Dialog is the world’s first subscription service for diamond retailers to merchandise their loose diamond inventory. Originally launched in November of 2020, Dialog is now in over 100 doors in Canada, the US, Australia, the UK and Ireland. The team at Dialog works with each retailer to curate a perfect merchandise selection from the Dialog platform. Diamonds selected are then shipped to the store the very next day and can remain there indefinitely. The diamonds are always in the retailer’s store. The only cost is a monthly subscription fee. With subscription services like Netflix and Spotify in your life, would you ever go back to buying a movie or CD? The team at Dialog don’t think so and created Dialog to provide jewellers a modern alternative to traditional diamond sourcing. The retailer does not pay for the diamond unless it sells and if an item is not turning, they can exchange it for another, like a library for diamonds. Plus, as soon as retailer reports the sale on the Dialog platform, a similar replacement diamond can be shipped to their store the very next day.

Dialog will soon also be releasing jewellery on to its platform for retailers to have access to and is looking forward to sharing more information about this at the UK Jewellery Festival.

PICTO has been a Danish design icon since 1984 and is a small piece of Danish design history created by two young hippies, Steen Georg Christensen and Erling Andersen. These two designers were so visionary that they wanted to challenge the traditional way of perceiving time. In a time when everyone was busy talking about ‘time is money’ and ‘every minute counts’, the two creators went in the diametrically opposite direction. With PICTO you are encouraged to set your own agenda. Here, the day is not divided into minutes and seconds. It is rather an indication of time. This is how the idea for a highly minimalistic watch occurred – with only one hand and a clean dial. Actually, PICTO is the world’s first wristwatch that displays the time as a pictogram – or an icon of time in perpetual motion. The hour is indicated by a dot on the rotating dial, while a conventional hand indicates the minutes. Also brought to the UK Jewellery Festival by Copenhagen Watch Group, PICTO will present a range of its collections including its newly launched Ocean Ghost Net, made from upcycled ‑ shing nets, which provides an interesting talking point and story to tell customers.

London based jewellery designer Deborah Blyth began designing in 2004. Her passion for the arts and love of nature combined to influence her process, which finds beauty in imperfections. Blyth is known for her highly tactile, fluid pieces, she adores swimming and the restorative power of water, which is where her best ideas are born. Each piece of jewellery is created from start to finish within a small area of North London. Designs are hand crafted through the process of lost wax casting in her studio, and stone setting takes place nearby in Hatton Garden and she uses recycled silver and gold in all of the pieces. At the Festival Blyth will launch her new fine jewellery range, DB Fine. This comprises two collections crafted in 9ct recycled gold and using Ocean diamonds. These are the Ocean Diamond collection which uses raw diamonds, and the Nugget collection which includes pieces set with melee ocean diamonds. Blyth has collaborated with Cornwall’s Ocean Diamonds, specialists in sustainably sourced marine diamonds, to create the collection of raw diamond jewellery.

Danish fashion jewellery brand Sif Jakobs Jewellery will use the UK Jewellery Festival as an opportunity to showcase its AW collections, which are now available for wholesale orders. Described by the brand’s eponymous founder Sif Jakobs as a collection inspired by the “elegance, glamour and drama of France”, there are two ranges within the collection – Capizzi and Roccanova. The Capizzi range takes its inspiration from the Art Deco style that originated in France and is characterized by geometric forms. Meanwhile, the Roccanova collection is described as a tribute to French elegance and features statement emerald cubic zirconia stones in a tension setting. Eponymous founder and designer Sif Jakobs, says of the collections: “France has always fascinated me. I spend my summers in the south of France and I am so taken by their culture, lifestyle, and beautiful art. The French grow up with a sense of style and elegance that has always inspired me. It has a wealth of inspiration, and I have so many wonderful memories from this place, so it was time to dedicate a collection to this wonderful country.”

Dimexon is the leading manufacturer of expertly calibrated natural melee diamonds and are the preferred partner to some of the world’s most exclusive watch and jewellery maisons. The group is renowned for its leading stance on ethical sourcing, and as a fully integrated supplier it can track all of its diamonds through the supply chain from mine to store. Dimexon primarily sources its natural rough diamonds through long-term contracts with major mining companies, namely De Beers and Rio Tinto. The diamond supplier has recently launched a pioneering digital offer: an e-commerce B2B website that allows the watch and jewellery industry to buy traceable and ethically crafted melee diamonds online, with no minimum order required. Dimexon is the first major diamond manufacturer to create such a service and it is a gateway that will allow smaller watch and jewellery companies to access the highest quality diamonds in the market while making responsible choices. A major milestone for the business has been the release of its first ESG (Environment Social Governance) report this summer. This major report documents the company’s current success in these areas, and also lays out some key pledges for the future, such as a plan to go carbon neutral and eliminate single-use plastic, as well as ever greater levels of transparency and reporting on the journey of its diamonds.  At the UK Jewellery Festival visitors can meet the sales team, learn more about the Dimexon e-tail site and have the opportunity to handle its diamonds. At the trade event, the company’s Christopher Bull will take part in a lively panel discussion that looks at the changing landscape for diamonds as Russian sanctions and lab-grown diamonds continue to impact the supply chain.
